Have you found your train? Each of us has our own. There are people who are on it, those who are not. Who is on -your- train?

If you’re not also tooting your own horn, the world just passes you by. One of social media’s beauties is that it gives everyone who wants one, a bull horn.

The suggested answers vary wildly but seem to miss the crux of the issue. Why should I hire you? There are only two reasons.

Think about it. Today you’re going to work 10, 12, maybe 14 hours. What would you change if you only had 5, starting tomorrow? Here are some suggestions to think about.

It is fine to regularly maintain something. But sometimes we need to see if it is real maintenance we’re doing, or nursing something along, well after it’s time for a more significant action to be taken. Leadership is facing cold, hard, brutal reality, recognizing a need for change and acting on it.
Tools like Twitter, IM, SMS, and email are fabulous tools. We need to guard against their casual nature from eroding effectiveness, courtesy, or professionalism.
