Think about it. Today you’re going to work 10, 12, maybe 14 hours. What would you change if you only had 5, starting tomorrow? Here are some suggestions to think about.

Mid-life crisis is the result of so many having run out the maps others laid before us…covering the first 35-40 years of American Male life. Increasingly, I suspect the problem is not so tied to just ‘males’ nor Americans, either.

Ever wonder why customer service just plain sucks in so many cases? Ever wonder why? Perhaps you’ve been just so amazed, like ‘made your whole day’ amazed, when you actually receive good customer service?
When evaluating a new job, look beyond the ‘tangible’ considerations. Use your network, listen to hallway discussions, ask for an org chart…
It is fine to regularly maintain something. But sometimes we need to see if it is real maintenance we’re doing, or nursing something along, well after it’s time for a more significant action to be taken. Leadership is facing cold, hard, brutal reality, recognizing a need for change and acting on it.
Tools like Twitter, IM, SMS, and email are fabulous tools. We need to guard against their casual nature from eroding effectiveness, courtesy, or professionalism.
“More than anything else, employees seek clarity from their leaders” Call it what you will, clarity, direction, or leadership; these are topics almost every employee begs of their leaders.
